These homeowners selected a quiet community on the shores of Lake James in North Carolina as the site for building their dream home.
Our Design Studio crafted this custom design using our 1500 square foot building block over a finished basement. An attached wing provided an ideal space for the staircase. The home’s main level features ten-foot walls. Given the enhanced airiness of the signature domed roof of a Deltec, nine-foot walls were chosen for the upper level.
The home was personalized by the owners in various ways, including a unique gray-green stucco exterior, a covered entryway and a stairwell wing (complete with elevator) specifically built to house large stained glass windows. The wall of windows and decks allow enjoyment of the beauty of the lakeside setting all year round.
The homeowners’ favorite feature is undoubtedly the expanse of windows and decks on both the first and second floors from which they enjoy their view of the lake, which they assure us is always beautiful yet constantly changing.
