Designed for Lower Energy Costs

Energy bills are an important consideration when building a new home. Reducing energy use is also one of the easiest and most important ways to lessen a home’s environmental footprint.

Deltec homes can be substantially more energy efficient than conventional homes. Our homeowners confirm this consistently. A round home reduces the amount of heat lost by reducing the amount of surface area exposed to outside temperatures. According to the Cold Climate Housing Resource Center:

"This [round] design lessens the surface-to-volume ratio, which creates significantly more heated space and less surface area exposed to the cold than a rectangular model of the same area."
