Deltec Homes, "The Original Green Builder," has been producing eco friendly homes for 40 years. We believe that a sustainable approach to homebuilding is the future of residential construction in the United States. Our focus is to build homes responsibly by minimizing environmental impact and providing a structure that is highly energy efficient and healthy to live in.

We also want to make sustainable construction easy for our customers by simplifying the process of building a green home. An in-house green building coordinator is available to guide you through the entire decision-making process which allows you to achieve the desired level of sustainability based on your personal needs.

At Deltec we don't only talk about green building we live it too. We are in the process of renovating our Asheville-based offices and manufacturing facility. The latest energy-efficient fluorescent lighting along with photovoltaic (solar) cells will be installed in our factory. Beginning at the end of 2007, we will produce approximately 66,000 kW-hr annually at our facility. This on-site power generation is one third of the energy we use to manufacture our homes, and the remaining two thirds is energy we purchase from other renewable energy producers. Over the next 10 years our goal is to continue to both reduce our demand and install additional generating capacity to eventually achieve 100% on-site generation. Upon the project's completion, we will be using renewable power to produce our homes, drastically reducing our energy footprint.
