Tour the Deltec Zero Energy Home

The Deltec Zero Energy home is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom floorplan that features 1500 square feet of living space. Designed for the US mid-atlantic climate, the energy efficiency features, including super-insulation, air-tight construciton, passive solar design and efficient electrical design, all work together to cut energy bills by two thirds compared to a typical new construction. The remaining third comes from the on-site solar panels.

High Performance Building Envelope

Energy efficiency is the pinnacle of net-zero home design. Double stud walls, superior performing windows, and modified roof trusses create a superinsulated house. Panelized construction and advanced air sealing create a very air-tight home. Pair this with the inherent energy efficiency of a round design.

Climate-Specific Passive Solar Design

Three bedroom layout designed to harness free heating energy from the sun in winter, while keeping out unwanted heat in summer.

High Efficiency Electrical Appliances

Custom Zero Energy Home Designs

Want a different floorplan, or plan to build in a climate that is very different from the southeastern US? Even though the Zero Energy Home is designed for the mid-atlantic area, our green building department offers a net-zero home design service to help you create your own Zero Energy Home, taylored to your living goals and your local environment. Contact the green department to determine if adapting your design to a net-zero design is a good fit for your project.
