We are deeply honored to receive this award as we strive toward our mission of building a better home. Deltec produces the only homes in the world built with 100% renewable energy. In addition, our comprehensive waste reduction and recycling initiatives allow us to produce 78% less waste than a stick-built home. We are currently undertaking a new initiative aimed at furthering our waste reduction toward our goal of zero-waste manufacturing.
Deltec's green building department is available for any questions you have about the sustainable attributes of the Deltec Home and beyond. Feel free to call us at 800-642-2508 or drop a line at slinton@deltechomes.com.

Featured Deltec Homeowner - The Varn's of Asheville, NC and their Sierra (1600 sq. ft.) on a basement with a 16x16 wing
|

When Scott and I began the process of designing a new home for our family, we knew what we wanted - something unique. Although there is a rich history of Arts & Craft architecture in Western NC, we wanted to give it a new twist.
We had always been intrigued by the Deltec circular home concept - the idea of living in the round, the energy efficiency, it's unique style. Since both of us are designers by trade, the wheels started turning and we wondered what a Deltec in the Arts and Crafts style would be like...

After much design time and space planning, we settled on the Sierra - a two level configuration, with a 16 x 16 wing / tower addition. The tower gives the exterior more visual interest and also serves as our formal entrance to the home. Within the tower, a solid oak spiral staircase provides access to a wonderful getaway space to enjoy quiet reading, music, and beautiful views. Since the tower is one story higher it also creates passive cooling for the house.
On the interior of the house, we incorporated many Arts and Crafts elements such as cherry stained wood trim, hardwood floors, earth tone colors, custom quartersawn oak mission style cabinetry, period light fixtures, and large prairie style windows to help "bring the outdoors in."
