Sustainable Manufacturing
Renewable Energy

Waste Reduction

- Deltec produces power through 273 photovoltaic solar panels on the roof of its manufacturing facility.
- We are committed to manufacturing our homes with 100% renewable energy.
- We are currently producing approximately 66,000 kW-hr annually at our facility. This on-site power generation is one third of the energy we use to manufacture our homes, and the remaining two thirds is energy we purchase from other renewable energy producers. Over the next 10 years our goal is to continue to both reduce our demand and install additional generating capacity to eventually achieve 100% on-site generation.
- Our renewable energy committment will offset approximately 208 tons of CO2 per year.

Waste Reduction
- Through use of computerized saws and advanced production techniques, Deltec is able to build a home producing 22% less waste than a typical, site built home.
- Waste plywood is packed up and shipped at our expense to help fund building projects in Nicaragua.

Energy Efficiency

Long Term View
- Deltec's manufacturing facility is currently having 100% of its lighting replaced with state of the art, energy efficient lighting, projected to save 12% of Deltec's annual electricity use.

Long Term View
- We build homes with the high quality materials in a controlled environment.
- Our homes are built to last for generations, reducing the demand on the earth's natural resources.
- We have a comprehensive recycling system in our facility. Recyclables are separated from other materials and recycled either on site or at a local recycling facility, greatly reducing the amount of waste we generate. We recycle and reuse many different materials such as plastic, cardboard and wood scraps.
- Deltec uses sustainably forested products whenever locally available.
