Our sales team got together and made up a list of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs, if you will). Throughout the year, we’ll feature different questions and answers in our newsletter and blog to help you better understand why a Deltec is like no other home. The first question we chose to feature is probably our most asked: How much do Deltecs cost?

Short, to-the-point answer:

Expect about $85-$185 per square foot for the basic Deltec shell package and $250-$500 per square foot for the final home based on 2021 national averages for a typical home.   Your price may vary significantly based on location and home customization choices.

Longer, better explained answer:

We understand this is extremely important when you’re researching homebuilders so we try to be as transparent as possible about pricing, but the truth of the matter is, it depends. To give an exact—and accurate—answer is difficult without knowing a little more information. The size of the home, where you’re building and what options you’ll incorporate are all things we’ll need to consider. It’s also important to understand that there are two costs associated with building a Deltec: the shell price and the turnkey price. The Deltec shell usually makes up about one-third of the completed home. Of course, finished costs can vary greatly depending on how much work you do yourself and the types of finishing you choose, but the price range in the short answer above is pretty typical for any of our homes. This is admittedly a little more than the typical home, but what you’re getting for the higher upfront cost is a high performance home that will save you money in the long run with lower energy bills and much less maintenance.

This can be a little confusing, we know. So we made it a top priority for our new website to give a wide variety of examples. If you’ll notice on all the floorplan pages of Our Homes, we put the package price and estimated finished cost. Our Pricing page explains the cost, as well as what you’re getting for that cost. We encourage you to look at all of these to get a better understanding.
