This Arts and Crafts style model offers a combination of classic architectural appeal and modern high-performance design. An open floorplan and the 400-square-foot wraparound porch ensures comfortable living space both indoors and out.
Chad Moore, Deltec project manager and the lead designer of the Chestnut tells us more about this project “As we began looking for new designs to add to our Renew Collection of homes, we wanted to add a few traditional styles. Our teamloved the idea of an Arts & Crafts style home, which I feel has a timeless design and great curb appeal.”
While the Arts & Crafts style is traditional, Chad and the rest of the team wanted the interior to have a more modern, open layout. “Most of your older, true Arts & Crafts designs have a very boxy interior. We wanted to keep with the open designs that our customers seek, so we laid out the living/kitchen space to be open to each other. We also wanted to incorporate other Arts & Craft features, such as a wraparound porch and covered entry.”
Leigha Dickens, Deltec’s green building and sustainability manager, notes that the Chestnut is a great addition to the Renew Collection. “Aside from the high R-values and air-tightness, the roof faces several different directions, so it can accommodate solar panels no matter which way your lot faces,” she said.
