This has been a very exciting year at Deltec Homes! As we approach 2018 (i.e., our 50th year!), we reflect on some of our 2017 highlights:
Launching the Solar Farmhouse
While we were confident there was going to be a great reaction to the launch of the Solar Farmhouse into the Renew Collection, we were overwhelmed by how great the reaction! The day of it’s debut, January 23rd, our website visits jumped 300% (y’all almost broke it!). That popularity has remained consistent all year and to this day, it is still one of our most viewed website pages. Nearly a year in the making, the Solar Farmhouse features a classic farmhouse style with modern functionality like passive solar design, airtight building envelope, open floor plan and plenty of storage. Since its launch, we’ve sold several and anxiously waiting for one to be completed. Once it is, we will get pictures, promise! Until then, don’t forget to check out this virtual tour of the living area.
Virtual Reality
Speaking of virtual tours, this year we started on a new project to so our customers can experience a Deltec, no matter where they are, through virtual reality. Virtual reality goes a step further than most virtual tours with a fully immersive experience so that you actually feel like you are in the home. It’s still in the early stages but stay tuned for more in 2018!
First Chestnut
The very first Chestnut from the Renew Collection was built this year, right here in Asheville! The Arts-and-Crafts style home was featured in the Asheville Home Builders Association’s Parade of Homes in October. Some of the features include Heat pump water heater that uses 1/3 the electricity of a conventional electric water heater, 16 SEER dual fuel zoned heating and cooling system, Fresh air ventilation system with the Broan “E” Series ultra-efficient DC motor ERV, Energy Star certification, and a projected HERS score of 50.
First Texas Seminar
In anticipation of a BIG announcement coming in January, we held our first Texas seminar in October. The president and director of planning and design went to Rockport to visit homeowners after Hurricane Harvey and while they were there, gave a presentation and home tour to people interested in learning about Deltec Homes. A film crew from Verge also met us there to interview our president, Steve Linton, and homeowners Bob & Janet Cunningham and Krystal Krischke & Christopher Hicks, about our hurricane resistant homes for their web series, The Home of the Future. A special thank you to the Cunninghams, Krystal & Christopher for making that weekend such a success! As for future Texas seminars, stay tuned! We’re adding a couple of them to the 2018 calendar.
Monthly Factory Tours
This year we started our monthly factory tours. Every 3rd Friday of each month, we hold an open house tour of our 100k manufacturing facility to give people a behind-the-scenes look at where Deltec homes are made. Now that we have started our virtual reality project, you’ll also get a chance to “tour” two homes right here in our design center! To learn more about the tours, sign up for one, or see when the next one is, click here (we promise to update it for 2018 dates soon!)
Meet our Staff Videos
Being an international company, it’s rare that we get to meet all of our clients face to face. Therefore, this year we started a monthly Meet the Staff video series to bring our people to you! Click here to see the videos of people you could be working with (or, perhaps already have worked with): from sales consultants, to directors, to designers- you can get to know them all!
We’re looking forward to going into 2018 with these successes (and many more) and to starting a milestone year with so many great clients. Thank you for helping make these past 50 years a success!
